Michelle Painchaud completes Cornell University course

   
WINNIPEG, Manitoba – Michelle Painchaud, president and CEO of Winnipeg-based PPG, has just completed a Cornell University course on compensation strategies and models.

The course, Expanding the Compensation Model: External and Structural Considerations, is part of Cornell University’s eCornell courses. It is a demanding course, that teaches students how to use market analysis to implement changes to a compensation plans and create customized compensation strategies for business.
This course gives Painchaud an edge when evaluating a company’s compensation model. She is able to assess external factors and implement a dynamic model to help administer appropriate compensation for her clients’ companies.

“It was a challenging course,” says Painchaud, president and CEO of PPG. “Not only did it further my knowledge about compensation models, but it gave me some new insights into compensation and incentive models that are new and unique to business.”

In addition, the course included:
  • Analyzing company internal/external data for compensation models.
  • Implementing a model for conducting an effective compensation analysis for different organizations.
  • Identifying advantages/disadvantages of merit and variable pay plans.
  • Conducting a market comparison as part of the compensation analysis.
  • Recommending actions based on the results of the compensation analysis.
  • Implementing changes to an organization’s compensation administration policies.
